What do you know of research or literature on SOC in nonprofit organizations?

I am writing a book on 6 NGOs in different parts of the world, looking at their strategies for transformation and sustainability. Most of this info focuses on finance and leadership, whereas I want to focus on community -- how a SOC strengthens NGO operations, increases their impact and longevity.

I do have the Fisher, Sonn & Bishop book and some books on organization culture.

For my book I am developing surveys and interview protocols in which I will incorporate SOC Index.
